ARTIST STATEMENT

A process driven artist, I react to materials in a direct and intuitive sense. Exploring representation through a continuum of mediums, I look to find points of contact between my conceptual self and the environment I am embedded in. Trying to attune to ordinary affect and perception of my environment, my artistic experience is made whole. I work alongside a history of art and thought, informed through a range of disciplines, in an effort to enrich my experience and aid in my quest to find new forms of representation.

 

Across mediums, I am drawn to the abstract found within the deterioration of material, objects, and form. My practice is heavily influenced by fashion, leisure activity and luxury with the idea and constructs of social classes in mind. I seek to contextualize myself within these worlds through my work thereby creating them and developing a continuum in which they exist.
