ARTIST STATEMENT

“My technique is spontaneous. I want to capture the moment in my painting, intrigued by the patterns created by sunlight, shadows and shapes at that time of day.”

BIOGRAPHY

Carol C. Young is a fine art painter and designer. Her contemporary acrylics are primarily identified by a bold use of light and shadow along with iconic depictions of the rural landscape. She creatively interprets these images to her canvas with brilliant color. Carol tries to capture the changing landscape, particularly ones that include old barn structures that are in jeopardy of vanishing from existence.

Carol received a fine arts major from the College of New Rochelle, NY. Her paintings have won several awards on Minted.com; best in show at the Pequot Library Art show in CT; first place in acrylics at the Rowayton Arts Center, CT; second place for acrylics at the Mary O. Fritchie Art Show in Westhampton Beach, NY. Her artwork is displayed in several galleries and private collections both locally and internationally.
